Many people will make different career choices once they know the job loss reasons associated with that particular pathway…for people in reentry in which job options may be limited, how do you balance what is a good fit vs. what is realistically available at the moment to meet someone’s needs?

Second question: you’ve mentioned a few tactics that sound similar to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as well as Motivational Interviewing (MI)…can you speak to those methods at all with regards to their usefulness in delivering the support/tactics you’ve described?
In regards to mentoring, do you believe it is important that organizations hire more persons who know first hand about re-entry, those formerly incarcerated, and by doing so, offer peer support and a person who can relate with the client? As an ex-offender who served 25 years in prison, I believe this is extremely important. The fact that I am formerly incarcerated gives me instant credibility and a bond with the client.
In response to the jobs that fit, there are offender friendly companies that will hire ex-offenders e.g. in the construction industry, OSHA jobs, etc.

I'm from a community college in Riverside, CA and wanted the group to know we are starting a campus club that works with system impacted students, so this info is great and I/we look forward accessing your site for more tools, etc.
I work in a one stop job center and they have made that available
